Job Description

Seeking experienced Sales Manager to manage Direct-Store-Delivery (DSD) route sales system and salespersons serving food retailers within a 50 mile radius of Madison, WI for a large, regional Snack Food company.

 

Ideal candidate will have Route Sales experience and Sales Management experience in the DSD Snack Food or similar food distribution business. 

 

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Managing and motivating Route Sales employees on a day-to-day basis as they provide delivery and sales representation to various food retailers in their Route territory.
  • Providing Sales Representation to Retailer’s store-level decision makers to utilize our Sales Promotions and Programs to maximize the sales potential of each customer, with primary emphasis on the largest retail stores in the marketing area.
  • Providing Headquarter Sales Representation to locally based Retailers to assure constant sales growth and maximization of sales potential.
  • Monitoring and assuring daily fulfillment of Route Delivery obligations to food retailers on each Route’s service schedule.
  • Achieving all defined measures of success as mutually established for development of Route Sales personnel and overall sales objectives for the District.

 

Job Requirements

High School graduate, with College degree preferred.

  • Wisconsin Driver’s License, with a good driving record, and the ability to pass a DOT physical examination.
  • Strong leadership skills and the self-discipline necessary to perform consistently with a high level of work standards and ethics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and good organizational and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in utilizing Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Physical ability to occasionally lift and carry boxes and display fixtures of modest weight, as well as to perform repetitive lifting, bending, and walking functions associated with merchandising snack products in retail store environments.
