We’re The GFB – a quickly growing national snack brand based in Grand Rapids, MI. Just so you know, we’re actually not in the snack business…we’re in the “making people happy” business. Yes, we make fun and flavorful snacks that our customers love, but we also aim to make our team and surrounding community happy. Back to us for a sec. You should know that we do things a little differently around here. For one, we make all of our snacks at our very own facility (for a company in our market, that is as rare as a “good hair day” for Donald Trump). Second, we built this ourselves with no outside funding, so we know first-hand that hard work creates success. Last, we’re a certified B Corp…that means we care about people, planet, profit: in that order. We are not here just to make a buck…we are committed to making this world a little better place than the way we found it.

I guess what we’re trying to say is that this is a different kind of company doing things in a different way.

Can you picture yourself at a company like this?

If we had to give this role a title we would call it: National Sales & Marketing Manager

In a sentence, you would be managing National and Regional wholesale, chain store, and distributor accounts across the US and Canada.  In reality this job is that and more. You will not be boxed in, you difference maker, you. This is a huge opportunity for the right person.

Here’s a sampling of things you would own:

 

  • Market analysis & recommended strategy
  • Product management
  • Develop & Execute Account Plans
  • Measure & Report Success against plans
  • Suggest/Develop/Implement sales & marketing collateral & tools
  • Organize and manage sales data, collateral, presentations, pitch kits, etc. and support sales meetings by creating custom presentations
  • Data Management & Analysis
    • Manage weekly / monthly transfer of data from various sources as needed
    • Manage, review and determine appropriate data sources to enhance data based selling efforts
    • Analyze promotional activity to identify impact and recommend optimal promotional standards across product lines by channel.
  • Create, track, and communicate sales KPI's.
  • Create and manage store and customer appreciation programs
  • Support new customer and new item paperwork and system setup as needed.
  • Pack and expedite samples to key retail prospects.
  • Lead efforts for Trade Shows
  • Manage all export opportunities
  • Support improved merchandising efforts including evaluating secondary placement programs, in-store set analysis and supporting tools
  • Reporting on online metrics (online ads, website sales, amazon sales)
  • Collaborate with our national Demo companies
  • Determine what marketing support we should participate in on a regional and national basis (events, shows, trade shows,etc)
  • Lead and/or support Amazon and GFB.com website sales
  • Support development of content for blog, website, social, etc
  • Many other things…there is a lot going on

Job Requirements
  • 10+ years in food sales and/or marketing
  • Jaw-dropping Excel, PowerPoint, Google Sheet and Google Slides capabilities
  • Experience with third party syndicated data like SPINs, IRI, Nielsen
  • Comfortable and confident presenting in critical customer meetings
  • Must be able to think quickly on your feet
