Job Description

This position works under the direction of the Quality Control Manager, and assists the QC Manager with ensuring that the production facility and finished products meet regulated sanitation and quality standards. You must be organized, detail oriented with excellent follow-through. You must also be a team builder, with the ability to motivate and coach other staff members towards the compliance of quality standards.  

 Essential Job Functions: 

  • Complete Daily Opening Sanitation Checklist), and release production space to production team at start of day.
  • Take and record pH.  Compile pH data and analyze trends.
  • Care for, clean, calibrate and record pH meter.
  • Take and record storage temperatures.  **Compile temperature data and analyze trends.
  • Care for, clean, record and calibrate thermometers.
  • Take and record water activity measurements:
  • Compile water activity data and analyze trends.
  • Care for, clean, record and calibrate water activity meter.
  • Perform detergent and sanitizer concentration checks, and record results in Sanitizer Concentration Log.
  • Conduct regular environmental swab sampling to test for pathogen presence, and record results, analyze trends.
  • Conduct regular ATP sampling to validate sanitation procedures, record results, analyze trends.
  • Assist in identifying and responding to incidents that require corrective action.  (E.g., glass breakage; identifying and segregating product adulterated by physical hazards; contamination due to improper handwashing/glove use; allergen cross-contact.)
  • Manage storage of retains.
  • Conduct and record results of retains testing/tasting.  **Compile SKU results and analyze trends.
  • Monitor in-progress product regarding organoleptic characteristics:
Job Requirements
  • 1-3 years of QA/QC experience required.
