Who we are:
SlantShack makes protein rich snacks to inspire healthy living – for you and the environment. Our products are made from humane, sustainably raised meat, organic spices, and non-GMO, preservative free marinades. Our first product, 100% Grass-Fed Beef Jerky, is sold at Whole Foods and airports. We were named by Maxim Magazine as one of America’s 10 Best Jerkies.

Your Mission:
To double quarterly revenue by increasing new store count by selling through distribution channels and acquiring direct accounts. Grow Whole Foods sales per store by 50% over six months.
We are seeking a highly self-motivated individual for a Sales Manager position. As Sales Manager, you will build relationships with local retailers and build SlantShack’s presence throughout the Northeast.

What You’ll Do:

  • Grow distributor and direct sales revenue 50% each quarter
    • Increase number of retailers, corporate accounts carrying SlantShack products
    • Build relationships with accounts, improve merchandising and product placement to increase sales performance
  • Improve sales metrics at Whole Foods, establish SlantShack as top selling branded jerky within 12 months
    • Build store level relationships
    • Create merchandising opportunities, improve product placement, ensure proper signage
    • Support marketing efforts through in-store demos
    • Identify growth opportunities and collaborate with SlantShack team to obtain growth goals
  • Establish SlantShack brand
    • Represent SlantShack at in-store and consumer events
  • Travel as needed, position is based in Brooklyn, NY with occasional sales travel around the Northeast and for trade shows

Who You Are:

  • Entrepreneurially minded; self-motivated, able to create innovative strategies and multitask to pursue growth…ready to get hands dirty!
  • Comfortable selling face-to-face, over the phone and via email.
  • Coachable – eager to learn, grow and develop your skill set.
  • Highly organized, great attention to detail and time management ability.
  • College degree required 1 – 3 years experience in the food industry preferred.
  • Must have a passion for good food, health and wellness!

about SlantShack Jerky

The SlantShack journey started in 2009 when Josh Kace, lifelong jerky fanatic and recent college graduate, decided he deserved a better jerky experience than his corner grocer could provide. He would settle for nothing less than the tastiest and healthiest jerky imaginable.


With the gauntlet thrown, Josh gathered his under-employed friends in his New York City apartment and set out to create the jerky of their dreams. Under that slanted-roof, they came up with a list of demands: 100% Grass-Fed Beef, organic spices, and non-GMO, preservative-free marinades. The crew feverishly experimented, crafting crave-worthy, unique flavor profiles without the high sugar content and questionable MSG many brands relied on, and developing a revolutionary, against-the-grain slice that yielded tender, steak-like bites.  


A commercial dehydrator, a website, and a whole lot of jerky later SlantShack debuted to sell-out appearances at the Greenpoint Food Market and Smorgasburg, and garnered write-ups in Maxim, New York Magazine, The Atlantic, and Thrillist.


Today, SlantShack is recognized as a Certified B Corporation for our commitment to quality and good business practices because we continue to uphold our original standards to do food right--only partnering with family farms who are committed providing 100% grass-fed, free-range, humanely and sustainably raised beef without the use of hormones or anti-biotics. And, though we’re no longer producing jerky one tray at a time, we’re still turning out the tastiest and healthiest jerky imaginable with the same care and craft as we did in Josh’s slanted shack.
