Chobani Outperforms the Competition to Become the Top Yogurt Brand in America
In 2016, Chobani reached almost $2 billion in sales and took the top spot in the United States yogurt market and beat out established brands like Dannon and Yoplait. How did this 12-year-old brand become the country’s biggest yogurt company? You can attribute fast growth, staying ahead of consumer trends, and innovation towards the business success.
Chobani came onto the scene and made Greek yogurt popular in the US, and when competitors began to follow suit with their product offerings it was time to get creative. Over the last few years, we have seen a wide flavor variety, Chobani Flips and drinkable yogurt which set the brand apart from the rest. Food giants have to work doubly hard to stay on top in a market that is embracing emerging brands and their original concepts that appeal to many consumers and their needs. Chobani is doing a fantastic job at staying at the forefront in their category and continues to boost their margins with a production model that is poised for sustainability.
